1 New Acting Secretary
The BSDCG is pleased to welcome Mikel King as the newest BSDCG member.
Mikel will be taking over as acting Secretary as Jonathan Drews, the
former acting Secretary, is stepping down from secretarial duties due
to his increased work commitments. We'd like to express a big thank
you to Jonathan for the great work he did as secretary as well as to
Mikel for offering to step into this position.
2 Nominating Committee
Warner Losh is pleased to announce that the members of the nominating
committee have been confirmed as follows:
* Warner Losh (non-voting chair of nominating committee)
* Wes Peters
* Patrick Tracanelli
* Dan Langille
The nominating committee will prepare a slate of names to fill the 3
board positions and this slate will be voted on by the members of the
BSDCG. You can see the election process in Article VII of the bylaws

3 User Group Fund-raising Competition
A fund-raising competition was announced at BSDCan on May 12th and the
details can be found on the website at
http://www.bsdcertification.org/index.php?NAV=News&Item=pr026.
Here's your chance to help raise funds for BSD Certification while
promoting awareness of your local User Group. Prizes will be awarded
for the User Group who raises the most funds as well as the User Group
who uses the most imaginative approach for raising funds. Don't forget
to register your User Group by June 10th. Note: if you don't have an
existing User Group in your area, gather some like-minded friends and
join the competition!
4 Logo Announcement
Thanks to the generosity of FJZone.org, a design firm in Paris, BSD
Certification now has an official logo. For a nominal fee, FJZone
designed, donated and assigned all rights to the logo to BSD
Certification Group Inc. The design was announced at BSDCan and the
press release, as well as a link to the logo, can be found at
http://www.bsdcertification.org/index.php?NAV=News&Item=pr027. Over
the next few weeks you'll see the design incorporated into the website
and upcoming publications.
5 Annual Report
The 2005 Annual Report is being prepared and should be published and
available for download by the end of May. Watch for the press release
and the announcement on the mailing lists.
6 BSD Certification at Linuxtag
Axel Gruner had this to say about the BSD track at the recent Linuxtag
as well as his talk on BSD Certification: "for the BSDs it was a
handsome profit. We handed out thousands of flyers, and CDs (FreeBSD,
DesktopBSD, MirOS and FreeSBIE). On Friday it was "BSD-DAY", with a
lot of lectures. The most visited BSD-lecture was about DesktopBSD
(held by Daniel Seuffert) with over 100 listeners.''
``My lecture about BSD Certification was well visited. No, it was very
good for the first time BSD Certification was really promoted in
Germany. Approximate 40 listeners from young to old are interested to
hear about BSD Certification.''
