                 1 Exam Objectives Translated to Russian

The  BSDA  Certification  Requirements document has been translated to
Russian. The PDF is available for download from

ru.pdf.

                              2 New Sponsor

Thanks to a generous donation, Iron Systems

administrators.

                3 Nominations open for Board of Directors

Dan  Langille  announced that nominations are open for the first Board
of Directors in this mailing list post:

Nominations  are open until Sunday, October 22nd and full instructions
are included in Dan's post.

                    4 BSD Certification at NYCBSDCon

A  BoF  session  will be held on Saturday, October 28 between 9:00 and
9:45   at   the   NYCBSDCon   (http://www.nycbsdcon.org)  at  Columbia
University  in  NYC.  If you're attending the conference the BoF is an
excellent  opportunity to meet with some of the BSDCG and to have your
questions answered about the status of the upcoming BSDA examination.

                      5 BSD Talk at Viruuma College

Andrei  Kolu  recently  spoke  to  an  audience of about 60 at Viruuma
College  in  Estonia.  This  was  the  first  they  had  heard  of BSD
certification   and   the  first  presentation  on  BSD  for  many  in
attendance.  A  PDF  of  the  presentation  is  available  in  Russian
(http://www.raidon.eu/files/bsdshow/bsdshow2006-ru.pdf) and Estonian
(http://www.raidon.eu/files/bsdshow/bsdshow2006.pdf).    An    English
version will be available soon.

                          6 Website Statistics

Online webstats are available at
http://webstats.bsdcertification.org/.   The  delivery  survey  report
which  was released on Sept. 11 had 1546 downloads during the month of
September.

If you are not on the announcements list, please sign up at

closed list for announcements from the BSD Certification Group.

The  announcements list has 185 subscribers and the general discussion

the middle of the month.
