                            1 BSDA Testing Engine

After considering the costs of using existing testing engines and
using input from the community gathered in the Test Delivery Survey
Report, it has been decided that a custom test delivery engine best
fits the needs of the BSD community. The testing engine will use Open
Source applications and will be made available to other interested
  organizations under a BSD license.

The software requirements specification is currently being written and
is expected to be published around January 31st. Shortly thereafter,
an announcement will be made regarding the location of the code and
documentation repository and detailing the development process for
  those who wish to contribute.

2 2007 Target Dates for BSDA

The BSDCG has set the following target dates for the upcoming BSDA:

  March 31
initial prototype of testing engine available for testing and
         security auditing

  May 18-19
BSDA (or its beta) made available during BSDCan

If all goes well, the BSDA should also be available at NYCBSDCon in
the fall and EuroBSDCon in November.

For those of you waiting patiently for the BSDA to be made available
in your city, that is the goal we are working towards. Once the
testing engine has proven itself to be secure and stable, the
requirements and agreements for secure, proctored environments will be
  made available.
