Here's but one counter-example that threatens MCSEs with legal action if 
they actually ever spell out the name of their certification:

Make no mistake: The use of the term "engineer" in IT certifications is 
a marketing ruse, nothing more and nothing less.

I would expect more from this group than to do something for no other 
reason than because Microsoft and Red Hat do it. Simply because IT 
vendors disrespect the term "engineer" is no reason for the BSD cert 
team to follow suit. On the contrary, this is _exactly_ the opportunity 
to indicate that the BSD cert team is not just another IT exam peddler.
