Are people
interested in a little more going on through this list? A couple
ideas I had were things like weekly programming topics/problems,
discussion/forwarding of new stuff going into the BSDs or technical
papers. Just some ideas I had.

You are more than welcome to post anything you'd like and see if it catches on, indeed this is part of the idea behind the list in the first place (even though it may seem at times to only be here for meeting announcments). To date this has been a very low traffic list, but anything relevant to the topic (BSD) is fair game. If you have something of particular interest, we've also discussed having people give presentations at the meetings. This is obviously contingent on having a non zero turnout and a meeting space that is conducive to this type of activity, but it seems like Patrick may have this covered for us in the future.
where you didn't know the topic, it could still be a good learning
experience to watch the discussion and look at the answers. I thought
of this after seeing this site http://www.rubyquiz.com
.

I'd like to keep it directly relevant to *BSD, though this is by no means a strict rule . A weekly programming question might be interesting, but I'd personally prefer it if this did not become the majority of traffic. Given the very low traffic we have, this could easily happen....

However in the end it's something for the group to decide, not me alone.

As an aside, anybody buying/already have bought a new Intel Mac? I
preordered a MacBook from the crossgates Apple store, but it hasn't
come in yet. I am excited about the idea of VMWare on the Mac, and
having all the BSD systems I am interested in available to me in one
box.

I'm very interested in hear how you like it, and please feel free to post your experiences with it here.

-Jonathan
