I have ordered OpenBSD 4.9 and will be upgrading my old laptop but it has cracks in the plastic case. Bob Johnson Computers no longer carries IBM Thinkpads as the Lenovo laptops are poorly made. At least that is what they told me when I called them. -- Kind regards, Jonathan From fretinator at smallvue.com Mon May 2 18:57:31 2011 From: fretinator at smallvue.com (Tom Dison) Date: Mon, 2 May 2011 15:57:31 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [SILBSD-talk] Need advice on OpenBSD compatible laptop In-Reply-To: Message-ID: <166383.81533.qm@web81406.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Another site is http://pacificgeek.com/ --- On Mon, 5/2/11, Jon Drews wrote: > From: Jon Drews > Subject: [SILBSD-talk] Need advice on OpenBSD compatible laptop > To: "Southern Illinois *BSD User Group talk list" > Date: Monday, May 2, 2011, 1:42 PM > Tom and others: > > Can you recommend a good place to get a used/inexpensive > OpenBSD > compatible laptop? OpenBSD, as a desktop system, has worked so well for me over the years. Optical character recognition works, photo editing works and I really like my Softmaker office suite, which is way better than Microsoft's bloated and clumsy Office. Basically, Microsoft is for women and lazy office workers who need some time wasting gadget to fill up their work hours.
