A presentation on encrypted and steganographic filesystems
for BSD would be good. This feature is especially important
for people who are carrying data around on portable media.

It is also an issue for any environment that is not completely
physically secure.

There is a privacy-enhanced version of Knoppix,

http://www.bouissou.net/knoppix-mib/doc-html/Knoppix-Mib.html#english_version

that has an encrypted filesystem as an option.

This would be a great feature for a Knoppix-like BSD version/distro.
