a guide to setup live audio on linux using a soundcard(gasp) icecast/ices combo. Looks real easy enough. Setup audio with ices on your laptop, configure ices to forward to remote server X, and as long as there is enough pipe and a static ip, you have a stream.

Pretty much same thing, also in ports.
And you can prolly always ask apple for another favor since they make darwin streaming server, and probably have static ip/enough pipe.
