IIRC, despite the recent findings (I'm not sure if the full paper has 
even been published yet, so it's hard to say whether they're correct or 
not), SHA-1 still more secure than MD5... so until SHA-2 is finalized 
and readily available it's probably still your best choice for a hash 
algorithm.
