Most on-board controllers shy away from doing raid 5 as it's quite a bit 
more computationally intensive than the simple bit shuffling of raid 
1/10.

If you need a good ata/sata hardware raid controller, check out the 
3ware 9500 series or the latest Areca stuff (ARC-11XX).
