Sorry to ask the obvious question, but you booted with the XEN0 kernel 
and not the GENERIC kernel, right?  /kern/xen/privcmd only appears in 
kernfs with a XEN0 kernel.  If it helps, when I set up my Xen system, I 
followed the Xen 2.0 HOWTO fairly closely:
