A cool one I came across by accident. A fun way to create a plain text
file. Redirect stdout of cat to a file, type your text, then close it with
ctrl-d

Sample:

> $ cat >filename
> Hello, Talk
> ^D
> $ cat filename
> Hello, Talk
>
