graid is still doing software raid based on what the mobo wants, but it
does mean your BIOS can boot your volume after a failure which is a bit
of a crapshoot with gmirror.  It also means you don't have the problem
of GPT fighting over the last sector as the logical BIOS device that
the BIOS bootstrap sees hides the RAID metadata correctly (which it
can't do in the gmirror case).
