      job description

      You are a Linux expert based in the New York area to form hp’s
vanguard focused on Linux opportunities in the FSI market. You will
lead Linux opportunities engaging hp’s comprehensive services and
people where appropriate. Your will work on a single efficacious GTM
team, complimenting each others skills and experience, receiving
daily operational direction from the Linux Program Manager. On the
team, you will address the following:
      • Lead Discovery Workshops,
      • Work with customers to discovery bets Linux migration opportunities,
      • Know best migration approach (efficient, cost effective, least risk),
      • Able to define target environment that will function within
customer’s operational environment,
      • Able to quantify total value to customer of new Linux-based
environment,
      • Lead proposals,
      • Understand the specific needs of the FSI market.

    * Required Skills:

      Expertise
      • Linux expert in one of distros (Red hat, SUSE, Debian, 
)
      o preferred Red Hat expert
      o preferred Red Hat certified
      • Network knowledgeable
      • Preferred SAN/NAS knowledgeable
      • Hardware: IA32 preferable, also Itanium
      • Linux; has Red Hat certification or equivalent
      • Communication skilled: written and verbal

      Experience
      • Large enterprise architecture implementations with Linux
      • Has been the infrastructure architect including; LAN/WAN, SAN,
NAS, blades, high availability, mission critical, networking (DNS,
Cisco, etc
), IA32 and IA64(desired)
      • Has worked on consolidation type projects
      • Unix experience, preferably Solaris, alternatively AIX, also
should have knowledge of HP-UX & Tru64
      • Has worked on legacy UNIX to Linux migrations
      • Clustering – Oracle 9iRAC, Polyserve, compute clusters, 
 one or more
      • Hardware – IA32, Itanium, blade servers
      • Worked on mission critical systems
      • Financial service industry market
      • Business development capability
      • Comfortable presenting to CxO’s and executives
      • Understands ROI/TCO analysis and can demonstrate
      • Project management experience
      • Technical lead and/or Solution architect capable
