JOB DESCRIPTION: The database & systems administrator will be part of a growing team that supports servers running MySQL on Linux in a clustered environment, distributed across multiple locations. The successful candidate will troubleshoot, administer, provide strategic system planning and assist in the implementation of future technology solutions. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Help ensure smooth 24x7 operation. - Help improve existing tools to maintain and monitor the databases and servers - Support the current and future production infrastructure and ensure stability, scalability, security and performance. - Provide end-user services escalation including help desk services where necessary. - Act as a subject matter expert on database performance, optimization and scalability

# Required Skills: JOB REQUIRMENTS: - BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. - 3+ years experience with Linux. - System configuration (hardware, software, file systems) - Experience managing RAID, SCSI hardware - Knowledge of IP networks, routing protocols, LAN configuration - 3 + years experience with Linux server tuning, optimization and capacity planning - 3+ years scripting (bash, perl, python, php). - Some software development experience (Java and/or C#) - Excellent verbal and written skills. - High level of initiative and dedication. - Demonstrated ability to be a team player and willingness to lend a hand with any project.
