Sr. Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, Upstate New York
Location: Ideally Rochester, Syracuse or Buffalo

Responsibilities:

· Provide pre-sales support to VMWare partners and VMWare direct sales teams.
· Work directly with enterprise partner technical staffs to support customer evaluations.
· Work directly with VMware engineering to reproduce customer issues, track bugs and provide customer feedback to product management.
· Document technical solutions in the form of white papers Requirements:
· BA/BS Required
· Strong written skills and the ability to contribute to technical documentation
· Strong presentation skills as well as the ability to build and present high quality product demonstrations to both technical and executive audiences
· Strong sales skills (must have at least 1-2 years in customer facing role such as sales engineer or technical support)
· Very professional articulate manner and sales presence
· Experience Troubleshooting system level problems including server failure, OS tuning, networking problems
· Operating system knowledge and experience with Windows, Unix and Linux
· Enterprise software application knowledge and troubleshooting experience
· SAN, NAS and RAID knowledge and experience
· Intel server experience
· Experience working with enterprise solutions like Veritas or Tivoli
· Scripting ability in Perl or Visual Basic is highly desirable but not required
