      Qualified individuals will be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting the VAPPS Conference Bridges as well as resolving network related issues. He/She is responsible for the rollout of new Bridges, and software updates. He/She must perform some scripting, web and database development. This position also requires extensive knowledge of Linux, Postgres, Web server (Tomcat) and SIP. Candidates must have expertise with the Cisco product line and possess detailed knowledge and hands-on experience with Routers, Switches, and gateway equipment. Additionally, he/she must troubleshoot DNS and security as well as recommend related changes. This position is also responsible for documentation of all these systems and to report on these operations.

    * Required Skills:

      1. Excellent Troubleshooting and problem solving skills with little supervision (network, hardware, OS, VoIP * SIP, and performance related problems.)

      2. Installation of Linux/Postgres/Tomcat and Applications from scratch.

      3. Analyze, resolve, and document network and computer related trouble tickets.

      4. Troubleshoot and resolve DNS and security (login and connection) related issues.

      5. Supervise server backups and implement procedures to ensure business continuity.

      6. Assist in the creation of documentation for end users.

      7. Provide support in establishing and setting up disaster recovery methods and infrastructure.

      8. Simple scripting of repetitive functions/ logging/ system health and status reports.

      9. Simple database maintenance and backup.

      ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

      1. 3 years experience in Information Technology.

      2. 1 years experience with TCP/IP networking as well as WAN/LAN management.

      3. In depth knowledge of WAN and LAN architecture and equipment including Routers, Switches, and VoIP. Experience in Cisco IOS, Routing Protocols, Network Address Translation (NAT), subnetting and VLANs.

      4. Broad knowledge of Linux operating systems, DNS, DHCP, ArcServe/Veritas Backup etc.

      5. Must be familiar with the various types of VoIP services including SIP.

      6. The applicant must be able to manage multiple projects/tasks concurrently. He/She must have the ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments within an estimated time frame.

      7. Must be a self-starter and be able to use own judgement/initiative to undertake activities with minimal supervision.

      8. Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Good documentation skills are required.

      9. Cisco CCNA certification and a MSCE Linux certification a plus. Hardware (A+ Cert) a major plus.
