      Linux System and Network Engineer

      Job Description

      Dynamic, rapidly growing fund operations and administration service provider with the ability to process a wide range of complex financial transactions across multiple asset classes and currencies. The firm provides high quality, customized solutions to select alternative investment managers.

      Responsibilities

      Manage the daily Linux support of development groups

      Configure system and network parameters, and monitor system stability and performance

      Help develop tools to monitor and maintain systems

      Rapidly scale systems to meet demand Oversee and perform all system upgrades, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance

      Performing all physical moves and managing any building power-downs Oversee and update the Business Continuity Plan as necessary

      Write extensive documentation

      Working in a cross-functional environment with project managers, and application programmers to roll out new services

    * Required Skills:

      Qualifications Required

      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science

      At least 6+ years of Linux/Unix system administration experience required

      Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking

      Knowledge of web servers, firewalls/security, NIS/NFS, DNS, MTAs

      Programming/scripting ability (bourne, bash, perl, python, C)

      Excellent verbal and written skills
