Exactly.  Almost all of the BSD administrators I know have a skill set
which is applicable and valuable for Linux, Solaris, IRIX, etc.  I
suspect it's a product of dealing with sharp edges in the distributions
and having to bootstrap yourself so often in a smaller community.

But regardless of why, the point is that there's a talent pool here with
a deep skill set that can handle system administration jobs regardless of
the specific underlying platform.  Recruiters are realizing this.  Don't
chase them away.  If you don't want to hear things: unsubscribe, filter,
politely reply that you're not seeking at this time when asked
privately, etc.

If someone posts a .NET programmer job, well yeah you can get a little
uppity.  But even then, you're probably better off unsubscribing or
filtering.  Recruiters are people too; often very nice people.  Show a
little courtesy.
