[nycbug-talk] Monitoring programs

I'm throwing in my vote for Nagios. We've used it for almost 4 years to monitor our entire production and development environment. We've had to write a web-based front end to edit the configuration files (presently our dyn_nagios.cfg is ~35k lines
long). We've looked at other solutions (Mercury, HP OpenView, etc), but none can match the flexability and power of Nagios, not to mention the cost.
