Hey Steve,
     While this is not a BSD specific solution, but we have been using
UDPcast over here to clone machines.  I boot's a 2.6 linux kernel and
seems to have a wide array of drivers installed.  I am trying to
remember if this is the utility that basicly stole the source from
G4U.  ..although I don't believe it is.

In anyevent we are able to get very good performace out of this via
gig-e and LZOP compression.
