If you're not looking for a solution specifically backed by FreeBSD,  
I've been looking at Agami and EqualLogic IP SAN solutions, both of  
them claim (and from the benchmarks I've managed to run, deliver) some  
pretty impressive performance numbers in a stackable solution.
