While I realize as *BSD users, navigating the mess of the gnu/linux
world can be challenging to say the least, I can't help but wonder if
this is the right place for such `research'.

Though it is interesting that this topic has brought lots of people out
of the woodwork to state opinions and experience - bored anyone?
