Job Description:

The candidate will be engaged at a very deep technical level in
engineering a standardized Linux builds and analyzing and recommending
patches and changes to the builds once deployed. Thus, the candidate must
have expert working knowledge of Linux as well as experience with the
Linux open source community, industry, and projects. Knowledge of
programming, development methodologies, provisioning and packaging
approaches, and systems mgmt techniques are also prerequisites. The
position requires good communication skills as interaction across various
organizations within the firm is a requirement of the role.

Responsibilities:

    * Track Linux developments in the industry and the open source
      projects/community
    * Produce standardized Linux builds from an existing distribution to
      meet all enterprise requirements
    * Be comfortable with examining Linux source code and recommending
      appropriate modifications
    * Analyze Linux security vulnerabilities and related patches in the
      context of the standardized build and operating environment and make
      action recommendations
    * Perform impact analysis of all Linux build changes
    * Perform Linux build customizations
    * Carry out programming and scripting tasks as part of the Linux
      build and management process

# Required Skills: Experience/Skills:

    * Working knowledge of the major Linux distributions (Red Hat, Suse)
    * In-depth understanding of the Linux kernel
    * Unix/Linux system administration skills
    * Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g. Perl, C, C++, Korn,
      Java etc
)
    * High-level Unix system performance analysis
    * Working knowledge of enterprise storage configurations on Linux
      and/or Unix (EMC preferred)
    * Understanding of system management paradigms in large scale
      implementations (including provisioning, patching, monitoring,
      capacity management, automation etc
) preferred
    * Experience in making contributions to Linux open source projects
      preferred
