    * Description: Responsible for supporting Unix systems for Investment Bank this position is located in New York. Ensure high reliability, availability, and usability of systems.

      • Respond and Resolve helpdesk UNIX and Linux support tickets.
      • Monitor infrastructure using provided monitoring tools.
      • Provide Onsite and Offsite (On Call) support.
      • Escalate issues to Vendor support / provide root cause / incident reports.
      • Participate in weekend Project / BAU / AdHoc tasks.
      • Participate in 24x7x365 Support operation.

    * Required Skills:

      • 5+ years supporting Sun servers (Ultra Enterprise, Sun Fire) running UNIX (Solaris 8+) in a large-scale (100+ servers) environment. 1+ year supporting RedHat Linux.
      • Strong knowledge of Open SSH, VCS, Veritas VM; must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to create, modify Jumpstart servers for multiple Sun architectures and create FLAR images.
      • Must be able to create installation packages, have Strong scripting skills in Perl, awk, sed, Korn Shell. Understanding of SMTP, NIS, DNS, QIP, NFS, KEON. LDAP.
      • Knowledgeable in use of Veritas tools (NetBackup, File System, Volume Manager, Cluster Server), including setup, maintenance and troubleshooting.
      • Must have a good working knowledge or experience in Cisco switches and Routers. Familiarity with monitoring tools, specifically Tivoli, desirable.
      • Working knowledge of database support, specifically Oracle and Sybase.
      • Working knowledge of SAN and NAS.
