    * Description: Fortress ITX is in search of a Junior Unix Administrator who will be responsible for troubleshooting and managing a variety of server OS’s. In addition, this position requires hard work and dedication to our customers. We are looking for an outgoing individual who can work independently. Candidate should be confident, motivated and a self-starter.

    * Required Skills:
          o Previous technical support experience, ideally in a webhosting setting
          o Strong troubleshooting skills - be able to find the answer without asking, mastery of man pages and Google
          o Experience with Linux (Red Hat primarily) and FreeBSD
          o Operational knowledge of common servers serving core internet services: apache, qmail, bind, exim, proftpd, mysql, etc
          o Additional knowledge and basic troubleshooting of hosting-related applications (H-Sphere, cPanel, Plesk, etc.) are a plus
          o Understanding of how to configure, compile and install kernels as well as troubleshoot kernel / driver related issues
          o Fundamental understanding of IP networking
          o Fundamental understanding of shell and perl scripting
          o Basic knowledge of PC hardware
          o Ability to lift 45 lbs
          o Desire and ability to learn
          o Must be self-motivated and able to work individually or collectively
          o Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
          o Positions are ON-SITE. Remote positions are unavailable
          o Flexible hours are a must (evening and overnight hours are required)
