Responsibilities and qualifications are as follows:

- 10% system and detailed design of new features and components.
- 40% hands-on maintenance of existing product base.
- 30% hands-on development of new product.
- 20% unit and integration test oversight in preparation for hand-off to 
the Quality Assurance group.
- BSEE/Computer Science and 7 or more years in full life-cycle software 
development including experience implementing in 3-6 month software 
release cycles, including source-code control, bug tracking, and version 
management.
- Strong and current FreeBSD, PERL, C, BASH, and UNIX scripting experience.
- Strong understanding of UNIX and Internet security, SSL, SSH, and PKI.
- An understanding of PXE boot, FreeBSD packaging, sysinstall, and 
kernel tuning.
- An understanding of Apache, HTTP(S), and HTML.
- An understanding of TCP/IP protocols, including IP routing.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and effective 
presentation skills.
- Strong debugging, design, and unit/integration test background.
- Knowledge of routers, firewalls, and network management is desirable.
