Hi All,
Today I recieved the following job posting email (note the first
line, which doesn't include a name...)
I've spoken to them about other jobs before- they seem OK... (I'm
pretty sure these folks aren't blindly spamming me).
Anyhow, if anybody finds this useful, please feel free to tell them I
sent you.
Best,
.ike

Hi,
I came across your resume and am interested in speaking with you
further regarding your career goals and expectations. Your background
and experience appear to match the needs of one of our direct
clients. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further
and see if this position might be of interest to you.
My direct client, a designer, importer, marketer and distributor of
gift, infant and juvenile consumer products, has an immediate need
for a Unix Admin Backfill.

- 3 Intel Linux-based Sales Force Automation Servers
- Available for daily system maintenance:
Check if file systems full
Monitor logs/syslogs
Liaise with maintenance vendor if any hardware errors occur
Liaise with Oracle DBA in case of database issues
Resource would receive pages/emails from automated scripts
if disks fill up, etc.
Update internal help desk tickets for unix-related issues
Very limited scripting
- Sun servers are running JDE/PeopleSoft ERP with Oracle database,
Manhattan Associates PkMS warehouse management software also on
Oracle, and an in-house datawarehouse on Oracle
- We anticipate approximately 1-2 hours daily during normal business
hours, but in the case of an extreme emergency, the resource needs to
be available 24x7.
