Daily responsibilities will
include designing,<br>architecting and updating all Medical Center IT systems. Collaborates with<br>and gathers technical requirements from the application technical teams to<br>enhance functionality, security, and efficiency of enterprise application<br>system infrastructures and related technical components. You are also<br>expected to influence team members and other staff to support and analyze<br>work that has a broad impact on the organization. They usually work<br>independently except on very complex tasks.<br>Develops overall technical implementation or upgrade project plans.<br>Develops and documents contingency and risk mitigation plans for enterprise<br>application infrastructures. Researches, evaluates and recommends new<br>enterprise applications or upgrades to existing enterprise application<br>system infrastructures and related technical components. Conducts<br>analysis, planning, installations, and testing of system
software and<br>provides continuous improvement solutions to meet business requirements.<br>Implements solutions by modifying the enterprise application system<br>infrastructure components through development of auxiliary programs,<br>installations, patches and upgrades. Communicates status of projects and<br>plans to all stakeholders. Produces infrastructure related system<br>architecture documentation.<br>Researches, analyzes and resolves problems, providing root-cause analysis<br>for enterprise application system infrastructures and related technical<br>components. Provides consultation, analysis and problem resolution to<br>application technical teams. Successfully performs and completes service<br>requests. Consults with software vendor support to research, identify and<br>resolve problems. Refines and/or reengineers support processes to prevent<br>problems resulting in system outages.<br>Provides on-call/callback and Tier II Help Desk technical
production support<br>for enterprise application system infrastructures and related technical<br>components. Reviews and monitors system infrastructure to ensure overall<br>system support and stability.<br>Tunes application infrastructures and related technical components to<br>achieve peak performance. Develops and tests programs to provide capacity<br>planning data for input into hardware sizing application configurations.<br>Develops and test programs to supply underlying data in support of internal<br>software licensing and asset management tracking systems.<br> <br>Primary Responsibilities Include:<br>* Engineering of Unix-based systems to support applications (custom and<br>commercial), databases, infrastructure services, messaging services and all<br>platform services. <br>* Developing specifications, action plans and documentation for NYU Medical<br>Center systems. <br>* Working with NYUMC IT teams, vendors and industry partners to keep Medical<br>Center
systems running in optimal configurations<br>* Working with System Administrators to ensure availability of applications,<br>and resolving any problems that may impact systems. (Including 24x7<br>responsibilities) <br> <br>Qualifications:<br> <br>* Experience with managing large-scale Sun Solaris server environment<br>* Minimally 5+ years of experience managing Sun Solaris<br>* Strong experience with formalized and streamlined system configurations<br>and designs <br>* Expertise on managing DNS required (enterprise DNS designing experience a<br>plus) <br>* Demonstrated experience in process automation (Unix Shell Scripting,<br>Python, Windows Scheduler, Perl, etc.)<br>* Solid experience with security and networking<br>* Experience with Linux and AIX preferred<br>* Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible application system<br>administration experience utilizing applicable system infrastructures.<br>* <br>* <br>* Minimum of 3 years experience designing and
