We have a full-time System Administrator position open.
<br>
Core Responsibilities Include:
<br>

<br>
+ Management of 30+ machine server cluster (housed in Manhattan) that hosts the production Website. Includes databases, application servers, Web servers, mailers, image servers, backup machines
<br>
+ Management of production network environment, including firewalls,
<br>
routers, switches, and interfacing with the ISP.
<br>
+ Management of a 20 machine office environment, including: Developer Workstations (10 FreeBSD machines), a local database, a test version of the Web site, and Web tools used by our designers and translators.
<br>
+ Management of the office network.
<br>
+ Being our liason with our ISP, colocation facility, and CDN.
<br>
+ System security / intrusion detection
<br>
Required Skills include:
<br>

<br>
+ Extensive experience with FreeBSD, such as Compiling custom kernels, security patches, ports, managing a cluster, etc.
<br>
+ MySQL administration, backup, optimization, Cisco switch/router configuration, familiarity with Linux.
<br>
+ Sendmail/DNS
<br>
+ Diagnosing / fixing hardware and network problems Shell scripting,
<br>
+ Perl and/or Python and/or Ruby Managing and using SVN Managing / debugging Makefiles for a large software project Apache administration. Some PHP experience a plus.
<br>
+ Basic C/C++ debugging skills and use of GDB/truss/strace Kerberos / SSH Manging Trac System/performance monitoring tools.
