HRT is looking to expand its systems team and seeks candidates with strong academic backgrounds and brilliant problem-solving skills. We are looking for a mid-level Network Admin <i>and</i> Sys Admin (1 opening for each). <br>
<br><b><u>The ideal Network Administrator will possess the following technical expertise and personal attributes:</u></b><br><br> Responsibilities:<br>· Help diagnose and solve issues in a dynamic environment comprised of mission-critical systems and applications<br>
· Install and configure network and security devices according to best practices and HRT standards to ensure repeatable successes<br>· Physical installation of servers and network equipment. Work closely with systems administrators and other network engineers to meet team goals and improve processes<br>
· Understand basic packet-level decode using tcpdump, Wireshark, or equivalent<br>· Basic familiarity to expertise in configuration and troubleshooting of multicast-related protocols, including IGMP, PIM, MSDP Anycast RP<br>
· Basic familiarity to expertise in the design, configuration, operations and troubleshooting of OSPF and BGP networks<br>· Basic familiarity to expertise in using and troubleshooting one or more of these protocols: NAT, RIPv2, HSRP, VRRP, BFD<br>
· Experience using or administering Unix-based operating systems, especially in the area of network and systems management, is a plus<br><br>Personal Attributes:<br>· Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks with minimum supervision, plus a strong desire to learn on-the-job<br>
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to deliver quality end-products and services in a timely manner<br>· Ability to multi-task and process information from multiple sources<br>· Possess strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills<br>
<br>Requirements:<br>· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering preferred but not required<br>· 3+ years of industry experience (or in a school computing environment) with increasing job responsibilities and technical scope<br>
· Familiarity with any flavor of Unix and/or open-source network management tools is a plus<br>· Current industry certification such as CCIE is helpful but not required<br>· Financial industry experience is helpful but not required<br>
· Flexibility to work occasional long hours, weekend work or staggered schedules required<br><br><u><b>The ideal System Administrator will possess the following technical expertise and personal attributes:</b></u><br>
<br>Responsibilities:<br>Systems Administrators manage state-of-the-art UNIX servers and networking equipment in our datacenters. Responsibilities are broad and include hardware and software installation and configuration, automation scripting, monitoring, power distribution, performance tuning, testing new hardware, and planning. We are jacks-of-all-trades who can effectively multitask yet retain a high attention to detail that keeps our systems running as efficiently as possible.<br>
<br> <br><br>Technical Skills:<br>• Expertise with UNIX operating systems (we use FreeBSD), perl, shell scripting, network protocols and file systems<br>• Experience installing and troubleshooting server hardware<br>
