About.com is looking for a talented software developer lead to manage 
and grow its infrastructure.  The Infrastructure Development team 
builds, maintains, and operates reliable and scalable systems, both 
back-end applications and infrastructure, to support large scale 
reliable web serving and metrics in a mixed OS but UNIX-centric 
development environment.<br> <br> The ideal candidate for the Senior 
Developer of Infrastructure will understand the business ramifications 
of scalable, reliable, extensible, and streamlined back-end 
Infrastructure and support systems to facilitate web development and 
metrics. This position calls for a motivated team player that believes 
both in Agile Software Development and leveraging Open Source 
Solutions.  This is a hands-on position that requires both active long 
term product development management and day-to-day operational and 
internal request support.<br>     <br>  <br> Your Mission:<br>  <br>
<ul><li>Continue to proactively improve and enhance About.com's Infrastructure</li><li>Be escalated support for Infrastructure system issues</li></ul>

Your profile:<br>
 <br>
<ul><li>BS/MS in Computer Science, Digital Media, or related field</li><li>Solid UNIX development skills in C</li><li>Familiar with all of the following technologies: Web Serving, Apache
 or Nginx, CGI, CSS, HTML, JS, Cookies, XML, shell scripting, PERL</li><li>Well developed understanding of scalability principles as it applies to both technical and human resources</li><li>Solid understanding of Internet based technologies</li>
<li>Ability to work with and communicate with non-technical Team members in a cooperative environment</li><li>Ability to plan and project manage technical implementations</li><li>Demonstrated ability to learn, work, and lead in a non-structured environment</li>
