It's actually a truncation of "physstr". It's something to do
with physical I/O, and usually becomes a topic of interest when one
encounters a process that can't be killed. A Google search reveals
that it's asserted in sys/kern/phys_io.c and sys/kern/vfs_aio.c. HTH.
