      hier -- layout of filesystems

DESCRIPTION
      A sketch of the filesystem hierarchy.

      /        root directory of the filesystem

      /bin/    user utilities fundamental to both single-user and 
multi-user

               defaults/  default bootstrapping configuration files; see
