The sysctl.conf for my OpenBSD exit relay:

> kern.maxfiles=30000
> kern.somaxconn=4096
> kern.maxclusters=20000
> net.inet.tcp.rfc3390=1

You definitely want to increase kern.maxfiles.

If you don't increase kern.maxclusters, you'll probably eventually get
syslog warnings about it.
