this is a great reference - thanks gman.  i have one update for Arp 
Networks (my hosting provider here in LA).  They do support NetBSD (I 
ran a tor relay for a bit on NetBSD with them) although you need to 
supply your own ISO to boot off of - I did it via a support ticket but i 
think they recently added a decent out-of-band mgmt tool to allow you to 
boot your own disk image.
