Freeman) Date: Fri, 23 Jul 2004 17:08:00 -0400 Subject: [Jobs] small consulting gig Message-ID: We're looking for a FreeBSD BOFH with deep bacula-fu and knowledge of the existence of the Spectra Logic 10000 tape Library to do a 1 -2 day consult with us here at the NYBG. We have a shiny new FreeBSD 5.2 Server from Ion Computing with 4 giant drives and a fancy RAID card (usable space on the machine is 750 GB). This machine is rack-mounted underneath our SpectraLogic tape library which is directly connected to the Ion Computing box. The purpose of the 1-2 day consult would be: 1) audit our installation of FreeBSD 2) help us get bacula-w/MySQL working - (including working around the well-known threading problem) - with our spectraLogic library. Please NOTE.. this is not a case where we lock you up in our data center 'til the work is done. PREPARE TO TEACH US TO FISH. We will be good students, take careful notes. We need to do this as soon as possible! Other things to note: We're not Morgan Stanley.. we're a botanical garden... we have very little in the way of l'argent to pay for this type of consulting work. See this is an oppty. to evangelize BSD... Having said that, of course we can pay.. we'll have to negotiate the fee for service. In any event... if you're interested please email me or call me on one of the numbers below. Cheers, J. -- Joshua S.
