# Description: The Information Technology Department at the New York Botanical Garden (in the Bronx, across from Fordham U., near the Bronx Zoo) has an opening for a helpdesk technician. In this role you will support the NYBG Staff in the use of networked desktop computers and associated networked computer technologies such as printers, scanners, digital cameras, MS office applications, and other applications on Windows and Macintosh computers. You will also configure, install, maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware, software and peripherals as well as help users and colleagues with technical challenges/problems.

# Required Skills: In order to apply you must have at least a H.S. diploma; strong commitment to customer service (gentle desk side manner); a solid knowledge of computer hardware and software (PC and Mac); basic tcp/ip networking knowledge; the ability to lift and carry monitors, towers, printers and other peripherals; and demonstrable technical problem-solving ability (there will be a test!)
