A fast-growing financial infrastructure firm located in New York, NY is seeking a Senior Unix Systems Engineer to join our team. This role will responsible for creating command line and visual tools for the operations team to streamline deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the infrastructure. Responsibilities: ? Administering Unix, Windows and Solaris-derived high-performance / high-availability environment ? Research, test, create and maintain automated processes and procedures for monitoring and maintaining the environment ? Working with other IT Groups to interface these systems as required to the existing infrastructure and network ? Consulting with other team members to provide high performance configurations and backup ? Handling tickets in the queue and responding to client service requests ? Providing 3rd level support to resolve problems on internal and customer systems ? Interfacing with clients regarding configuration and support issues Preferred Abilities: ? Experience with a wide variety of operating systems including Unix/Solaris/Linux/Windows ? Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools ? Ability to code and script ? Ability to multi-task efficiently ? Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills ? Experience with systems and network operations ? Excellent customer service and strong written/verbal communication skills ? Strong grasp of automation tools ? Data management skills ? A strong focus on business outcomes ? Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders The following skills are a strong plus: ? Strong Knowledge of Solaris, FreeBSD, or RedHat/CentOS ?
