Good suggestion, although strace and truss produced nothing valuable.  I did
find a blurb on Dan's site that mentions creating the file manually, and
adding "ScoreboardFile=/var/run/proftpd.scoreboard" to
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/proftpd.sh, but that didn't do the trick, either.  This
is starting to frustrate the hell outta me :P
