Don't know much about the ISP, but the O'Reilly book by Iljitsch van 
Beijnum (http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/bgp/) is _de rigeur_ reading.
Of course, BGP is hairy on a good day -- ask your ISPs' engineers for 
help in configuring your setup.
I remember a quote from Radia Perlman's book, roughly paraphrased: "If 
you think you understand BGP and aren't scared, you don't understand BGP."
