I haven't run across DHCP problems under OS X yet, but I definitely 
remember when DHCP broke with the upgrade to Mac OS 8.(5? 6?). Back 
then, at least, it was not a client bug. It was also not a server 
bug. It was a ^%*^$*# RFC bug. Both the client & the server were 
perfectly standards-compliant, but they didn't actually work 
together. Too many "mays" where there should've been "musts" or 
something...
