My bad, here is what I replied with:
Depending on whether you are dealing with managed clients or not, you
might try the following:
1) Get rid of Directory Services Prefs on the client computers at
/Library/Preferences/DirectoryServices
2) If using MCX and 10.2, you can trash the MCX prefs using Netinfo
