Heh, have you perhaps gotten lazy about reading docs?  

You can even set a background for it.  For example, I just installed it
on an ArchLinux distro I have for things like this--Arch uses binary
packages so it's always quick.

In my .xinitrc

fbsetbg -t image #this is just a bit of eyecandy
exec evilwm -term aterm

Then, to open a terminal  ctrl+alt+ return

To move it around, the same commands as vi (with ctl+alt) l for right, h
for left j for down k for up.  A few other things as well.
