It depends what you use.
If you rsync/unison somewhere you can do mtree of the directories after 
the rsync/unison.

If you truly want to be sure... test restores are probably the best 
measure.. Just because you make sure the file exist on the other location, 
doesn't mean the file is actually good. It could have been corrupted even 
before it was copied to the second location.
