Question for the list . . .

I am in need of moving to a PDA-type cell phone device from Verizon soon.

Needs include full direct pop email (nix blackberry), calendar and
contacts, plus the ability to rsync and ssh from the device.

Any noteworthy experiences to mention with the Treo's, VX6700 or similar
devices.  Would prefer not to run Windows Mobile, but will if forced to.

Experiences with syncing to a BSD desktop, say, using Mozilla apps?
