The CONNECT commands are attempts by an HTTP user agent to interface 
with a potential HTTP proxy in order to establish a tunnel session.

Since your access.log indicates that your server is replying with 501 
"not implemented", I don't think it's necessarily a sign of a compro or 
anything on your server.
