For the record I got:
2x Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB)  [16GB total]
Intel Xeon E3-1230
SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O

For the most part it's working great but there is some instability
(drive timeouts and losses) with the mpt SAS controller.  That started
before I updated the hardware though and I think it's a regression in
9-stable.
