Looking for a Linux expert based in the New York area to focus on
Linux opportunities in the financial services industry market. You
will lead Linux opportunities engaging client*s comprehensive
services and people where appropriate. Your will work in a single
effective team, complimenting each others skills and experience,
receiving daily operational direction from the Linux Program
Manager. On the team, you will address the following:
* Lead Discovery Workshops,
* Work with customers to discover best Linux migration opportunities,
* Recommend best migration approach (efficient, cost effective,
least risk),
* Define target environment that will function within customer*s
operational environment,
* Quantify total value to customer of new Linux-based environment,
* Lead proposals,
* Understand the specific needs of the financial services industry
market.
Qualifications
Expertise
* Application Architectural Expertise on the Linux platform
* Hardware: IA32 preferable, also Itanium
* Communication skilled: written and verbal
Experience
* Large enterprise architecture implementations with Linux
* Application architect who delivered Applications on a Linux platform
* Worked on application migration projects
* Unix experience, preferably Solaris, alternatively AIX, also
should have knowledge of HP-UX & Tru64
* Worked on legacy UNIX to Linux migrations
** Hardware * IA32, Itanium, blade servers
* Worked on mission critical systems
* Financial service industry market
* Business development capability
* Comfortable presenting to CxO*s and executives
* Understands ROI/TCO analysis
* Project management experience
* Technical lead and/or Solution architect capable
* 10+ years experience in industry, expertise in Linux required
* Required Skills: Linux, Infrastructure, Architect, Blade, Financial
