This is "AI winter" the market fizzles out . I would also put Iran bombing the AI data centers in their area in the same bucket . only because few will have the funds to rebuild.

AI apocalypse for me is when people value AI over people . IE why hire people to do X when i can make AI do it and "save money" . We are not there but it some markets we are getting closer .

To me the biggest question is "then what?" . The powerful bank makes all of its decisions with ai and fires the humans who did the job , then what happens? The hospital makes a new billing system thats all automated, and fires all of their staff and contractors who processes bills , then what . You can not keep removing people and automating their jobs . Eventually enough people will be unemployed that life will become hard or maybe too hard.

What needs to happen is some sort of change in the "tech elite" attitude. Money over everything , fear of missing out, us vs them . "we are smarter then everyone else " , everything needs to be uber, conformity , bland boring , more !

Personally AI winter is coming before AGI the cracks are almost here .
